Depending on their breed and coat, their first visit may include a bath, brush-out, nail trim, ear cleaning, and a small trim around the face, feet, or sanitary areas. The goal is to introduce your puppy to the sights, sounds, and handling involved in grooming without overwhelming them.
HOW CAN I PREPARE MY PUPPY?
You can help your puppy have a better first grooming experience by practicing gentle handling at home. Touch their paws, ears, tail, and face regularly, and reward them with treats so they learn that being handled is a positive experience. You can also introduce them to the sound of a hair dryer or clippers from a safe distance, gradually getting them more comfortable with the noises they may hear during grooming.

The frequency of grooming depends on your puppy’s breed, coat type, and hairstyle. Puppies with continuously growing coats, such as Goldendoodles, Poodles, and Shih Tzus, typically need more frequent grooming to prevent mats and keep their coats healthy.
