RAIN OR SHINE: WHY INDOOR AND OUTDOOR PLAY MATTER
Learn why indoor and outdoor play are both important for your dog's physical and mental well-being at daycare.
Dogs need regular opportunities to stay active, explore their surroundings, and engage with the world around them. Whether it’s sunny, rainy, snowy, or a little too hot outside, playtime is an important part of keeping your dog happy and healthy. Having access to both indoor and outdoor play spaces gives dogs different ways to exercise, socialize, and enjoy their day. At Fantastic Fido’s, we believe dogs should have opportunities to play, explore, and enjoy their day regardless of what the weather brings.
WHY OUTDOOR PLAY IS IMPORTANT
Outdoor play gives dogs the opportunity to enjoy fresh air, explore new sights and smells, and move around in a more open environment. Sniffing, running, and exploring their surroundings provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Spending time outdoors also allows dogs to experience different environments while participating in structured play and supervised activities. These opportunities help make playtime about more than just burning off energy!
THE BENEFITS OF INDOOR PLAY
Indoor play is just as important, especially when weather conditions make spending time outside less comfortable. Indoor spaces give dogs room to stay active, socialize, and enjoy supervised group play in a comfortable environment. Dogs can continue interacting with their friends, playing, and getting exercise without exposure to extreme temperatures or unpleasant weather. Having an indoor space allows dogs to keep enjoying their daycare experience and stay active throughout the day, no matter what the forecast looks like!
